Here at Wealden Benches we are pleased to offer a Bespoke Service to personalise your Bench. Although all of these services are available to purchase online, if you wish to discuss any details before purchasing, feel free to contact us by phone, email or post.
Wood Engraving - As well as looking impressive, a wood engraving offers a lasting reminder and acts as an anti-theft deterrent. We use a Computer Numerical Cutting (CNC) machine to precisely engrave text and images into our Benches.
Wood Engraving
A Wood Engraving costs £59.95 per rail. We can split the text over 2 lines. Most of our memorial benches have a top rail and a lower rail to further personalise your bench.
We charge £19.95 to engrave our library simple images into a rail.
You can upload your own simple line drawing or silhouette (similar in complexity as our online library of images) for an additional £9.95 bringing the the total cost to £39.90.
More complex images or bespoke images are charged at £49.45 to allow for the additional design time involved.
Our standard engraving fonts are Arial, Cambria, Comic Sans and Corvisa. The larger the bench the more characters you can fit on. Each bench is automatically allocated a maximum number of characters for best fit. You can preview your text during the personalisation stage. If for any reason your text exceeds the recommended allowance, please contact the office for advice. Wood engravings are added to your bench in the product section.
Can I have one line of my text larger than another?
Yes you can. When you have finished personalising your bench, leave details of any formatting requests in the box titled; 'Additional notes regarding your personalisation'

We offer 2 sizes of our traditional solid Brass plaques and solid Stainless Steel plaques;
• Our standard size plaque is 5" x 2" and you can have a maximum of 5 lines per plaque. Each line can have 50 characters, giving a total of 250 which cost £45.00
• Our larger size plaque is 10" x 2" and you can have a maximum of 5 lines per plaque. Each line can have 100 characters, giving a total of 500 which costs £65.00
• The price includes the text engraving, a clear lacquer finish is applied to the brass plaque to reduce tarnishing and the fitting to the bench.
• We can also engrave a pair of images from our library into your plaque, either side of your text, for £4.95. We will automatically reflect duplicate images to make them look best
• We limit the amount of characters each plaque can have to ensure the words that we engrave can be clearly read. These limits are clearly detailed when you start personalising your plaque and we offer a live preview before you add anything to your basket.

If you want an image engraved into your wooden memorial bench, simply go to the bench product page and you will automatically be prompted to add in your requirements online.
How much do engraved images cost?
1 image selected from our online library, engraved into your bench, costs £19.95. You can upload your own simple line drawing or silhouette (similar in complexity as our online library of images) for an additional £9.95 bringing the the total cost to £39.90. We can also engrave a more complex or bespoke illustration at a total cost of £49.45 to cover the additional time involved to design and prepare the files.
If you have uploaded a complex image or an image we would class as a bespoke image, we will always contact you before making a start to discuss any additional costings.
